We know the healing power of pets is magical, and we strive to bring our loving friends to assist in the healthcare of others.
Comforting Creatures - Northern Indiana Pet Partners is an affiliated group of the Delta Society, a nation wide non-profit organization dedicated to improving human health through service and therapy animals. The Pet Partner program trains volunteers and screens pets for participation in animal visiting and therapy programs in nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and schools. Pet Partners continue their training and education throughout the year through Delta Society Programs.
There are currently over 6,400 Pet Partner teams in the U.S. and 5 countries providing over 900,000 hours of community service annually, helping over 350,000 people each year. Our Pet Partner program is new to this area. We have a few teams volunteering, and we want to offer our services in Elkhart and St. Joe Counties, but we need to grow! And we can always use donations to help us in brochures, web site hosting, testing expense, etc.
