Practice Sessions for Summer 2008 !

Evaluations will take place this fall —at a location yet to be determined, and practice sessions are a good opportunity to learn about the testing and evaluation procedures. Having practice this early in the year provides you the opportunity to learn what you need to work on for the evaluations.

If you are interested in being evaluated, this is the opportunity!

Practice Sessions:

Please consider attending at least one of them.

Here is the list of days and times for the Delta training sessions.

Saturday June 7 - 5pm
Saturday June 14 - 5pm
Saturday June 21 - 4pm
Saturday June 28 - 5pm

All training/practice sessions will be held at Planet Canine, 4411 Wyland Ave in Elkhart.

Keep checking back as we expand our site - more information will be posted!

We've outlined some information about our group and evaluation requirements in the documents below. These are in PDF form that you can download and print out.

Prerequisites - (download)

This will give you a general overview of the overall requirements for you and your animal, information on fees, etc.

Skills Test - (download)

This is part of the evaluations that will take place on April 29th. It would be good to review this information prior to the evaluations, and work with your animal on these skills.

Aptitude Test - (download)

An important part of the testing is evaluating the "social" skills of your pet. Take a look at these skills, and see what you can expect!

We are excited to hear from you. After you have reviewed this material, please contact us with any questions you may have. Please give us a call.

Visiting with your pet will be one of the most demanding, challenging and rewarding volunteering you will ever do. Please join us!

Speaker's Bureau:

We have given presentations to 3 Kiwanis Clubs and 2 Optimists Clubs in our area. The presentation lasts approx. 15 minutes, and is ideal for service group's breakfast or luncheon meetings. Contact us if we can speak to your group.

Grant Application:

We continue to look for grant applications for our group.  This year, we received $200.00 from Tony La Russa’s Pet Hug Fund, along with about $200.00 during our booth set up at “Build-a-Bear” at the University Mall.  If you know of grant opportunities in which we may participate, please let us know. We're looking for funding to accelerate our program,  and help defray the costs to our members. See our donations section for more details.
